# /unclaim

## Unclaim Command

### Overview

The `/unclaim` command releases your claim on the current ticket and returns it to an unclaimed state. Run it inside the ticket.

### Usage

```
/unclaim
```

### Description

* **Release the ticket**: Frees the ticket so another staff member can claim it.
* **What changes**: The effect depends on the server's Ticket Claiming Mode. If the mode made the ticket read-only or private when it was claimed, unclaiming restores the earlier access.

### When to Use It

* When you can no longer handle a ticket and want to pass it on.
* When you claimed a ticket by mistake.

### Permissions

* You can use this command if you have Manage Channels or Manage Server, or you are the server owner, or you hold an authorized support role. Administrator also works because it includes those permissions.
* The bot needs `Manage Channels` to update the ticket.

{% hint style="info" %}
Using `/unclaim` in Discord is free. Unclaiming a ticket from the dashboard is a Premium feature.
{% endhint %}

### Example

```
/unclaim
```

Removes your claim on the ticket and marks it as unassigned.
